Bio

I used to be a language teacher, having professionally taught English for 17 years and Japanese for 10 years. I have taught in and outside Japan, to learners at various levels and of more than 20 different nationalities. I myself traveled more than 20 countries and lived in the U.S.A., Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

What was your inspiration to get into cooking, food and teaching how to cook?

Cooking has been my lifetime hobby and a means to express love for my family, friends and others. Two years ago, I started offering Japanese home-made meals to tourists from abroad, while teaching how to cook Middle-Eastern dishes to Japanese people. More than 400 people from 20 different countries already enjoyed cooking and dining at our home.

What excites you the most about your work?

Help deepen people’s understanding of different cultures through cooking is my biggest pleasure. I believe it can be a positive action toward world peace.

How do you select the menu for you classes?

What you can learn in my lesson is how to prepare well-balanced healthy Japanese home meals. I carefully choose menu which can be replicated outside Japan. And also, I'm happy to cater the menu considering customers' allergies/intolerance/eating restrictions.
