Bio

I am Payal, a fine-arts graduate, a Philosophy Post-Graduate, a mother, home-cook, a Heritage food tour guide, a small time entrepreneur. I have been passionate about two things always, one is travelling and other is food. Past 5 years have been pivotal in my life, as I was able to make my dream of Cooking into a reality.

What was your inspiration to get into cooking, food and teaching how to cook?

The inspiration was always there to do something in cooking. But ideas never become a reality till I did a Cooking Class myself way back in 2014. The experience opened my eyes to new ideas and filled my heart with confidence of establishing my own cooking school in 2015 September . And ever since that day, we have received immense support and love from our guests.

What excites you the most about your work?

Sharing the food culture of our Country gives me great pride and satisfaction. Teaching comes to me naturally as mother, grandfather and Uncles have been teachers by profession. I am in a different world when I am cooking with our guests. Guiding them to cook their own Indian Meal is so wonderful and when the guests see the results as the final dishes , the happiness on their faces is my reward. Their smiles gives me most happiness.

How do you select the menu for you classes?

The menu is discussed with the guests to know their liking and disliking. Though my emphasis is on creating a Thali Meal. That means we would be cooking Daal, Seasonal Vegetables, Masala Curry, Chapaties Rice. If time permits we pull off a small home dessert too.

What do you love the most about cooking?

Cooking is directly related to the joy of Eating. I feel most joyful when i see my guests enjoying their hands made meal. The feeling is is so good.
