Bio

I am a certified instructor specializing in Japanese cooking classes for international visitors. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of Japanese dishes to guests in Japan and abroad. In my twenties and thirties, I lived in Italy. During those years I was invited by many Italian friends to their homes and enjoyed many delicious homemade meals, then I realized that spending time over a shared meal was a fantastic cross culture experience. After returning to Japan, I decided to teach Japanese cooking to international guests. Since 2018, I have been hosting cooking experiences on Airbnb, welcoming guests from all over the world. Being a vegetarian myself, I specialize in plant-based dishes which are not only nourishing but also leave you feeling refreshed and balanced, both physically and mentally.

What was your inspiration to get into cooking, food and teaching how to cook?

In my cooking classes, I aim to achieve the following: ・Using Traditional Japanese Foods and Fermented Ingredients: Explore the rich heritage of Japanese cuisine. ・Minimize Waste in Ingredients: Use resources efficiently to reduce waste as much as possible (strive for minimal trash). ・Create Dishes That Are Easy to Recreate Anywhere in the World: Focus on recipes that use easily accessible ingredients, no matter where you are. ・Foster Cultural Exchange Through Interaction with Diverse People: Build connections and share cultures with participants from all walks of life.
